The Great Manchester Run will be taking place on 22 May 2016, and this year four of Focus Insolvency Group’s fabulous directors and employees will be taking part! Since 2003 more than a quarter of a million people have participated. The record for the course was set by Micah Kogo from Kenya, who completed the run in a staggering 27:24!

Our fearless runners are Andy Platt, Michelle Fielding, Anthony Pendleton and Rachel Cooke. Our team will be fundraising on behalf of Manchester Mind, an independent local mental health charity which delivers services to young people and adults.

Manchester Mind’s Advice Team provides free and impartial advice on welfare benefits, housing and debt to people with mental health needs living in Manchester. This can include helping with forms, sorting out problems with benefits, helping to challenge and appeal decisions and sorting out personal finances.

Joanna Huddart from Manchester Mind said “Our sincere thanks to your kind staff for entering the Greater Manchester Run in aid of our mental health charity – we’re so proud to have your support. Manchester Mind recognises the impact of debt on people’s mental health. Last year we offered 178 appointments, delivered casework for 325 individuals, saw 475 people at the weekly drop-ins, represented at 17 appeals and helped clients access £762,180 of additional benefits, with £82,000 of debt being written off. As a local, independent charity, Manchester Mind receives no core funding from Mind, so your generosity will make a real difference.  Thank you again from everyone at Manchester Mind – we look forward to cheering you on at the Great Manchester Run on 22 May!”
